Newburgh Christmas Trees
Newburgh Christmas Trees was started by Stephen Wombwell and William Standeven, two North Yorkshire school friends, with a passion for forestry and the natural environment and a love of Christmas.
William grew up on a stunning high-ground estate to the north of Skipton and was involved in all aspects of farming and forestry from a young age. After a brief stint in London developing his business skills he returned to Yorkshire and set up successful fencing and firewood contracting companies. Looking for a new challenge it was a natural sideways step to set up Newburgh Christmas Trees in 2012 with Stephen.
Stephen was born and raised on the Newburgh Priory Estate set within the picturesque Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A chartered surveyor by trade he worked on rural estates across central England before returning home to run Newburgh. Looking to diversify the Estate’s income the growing of Christmas Trees was a perfect fit to the Estate’s other enterprises and allowed him to move part of his business away from intensive agriculture into sustainable tree production.
The ethos of Newburgh Christmas Trees has always been to provide our customers, whether they are wholesale or retail, with the freshest and best quality trees that we can. It was evident that Infinity Christmas Trees was the perfect company to ally ourselves to as they share the same core principles. Together we have a desire to see the locally sourced regional supply of Christmas Trees at the same time as pioneering environmentally friendly technologies and plant traceability from seedling to cut tree.
